^{a list of small headcanons  +  other details about ashley ,  some of them will go into a dossier when i finally write it up ,  but until then .}

• ^{bi.oware robbed us of buff ashley… she’s 6′0″  &  solidly built ,   broad - shouldered ,  with defined core ,  arm ,  &  leg muscle .   she can dead - lift 300 lbs .  queen of queens .} 
• ^{there are freckles ALL over her nose  &  shoulder areas ,  with some going down her back ,  arms ,  &  thighs .}  
  
• ^{she’s got plenty of scars too .  she’s not overly shy about them ,  but she also doesn’t show them off usually unless goaded into it .} 
• ^{she’s got casual nicknames for anyone she’s close to .}
• ^{she can be really platonically affectionate .  growing up with younger siblings made her comfortable with displaying platonic affection  [  hugs ,   throwing her arms over people’s shoulders ,   linking arms ,   etc .  ]} 
• ^{romantically is another story ,  however .   she’s not shy about casual flirting  [  “ if you want to get me in a tin foil mini skirt  &   thigh - high boots ,   i want dinner first ”  ]   &   can tease  +  have a laugh about it .   she’s had the occasional fling ,  too .  but genuine ,  real romantic affection is something she isn’t super familiar with ,  &  generally doesn’t display in public .   quiet hand holding ?   she loves it .   public ,  big displays of affection ?   she’ll still love you ,  but she might throttle you later .}  
• ^{she hasn’t had a lot of serious ,   long - term relationships .   if she acts unsure of herself ,  it’s not that she’s uncomfortable ,  so much as she is trying to figure things out .   she can still be plenty bold ,  even if she does feel out of her depths ,  &  even if it’s early on   &  she’s still figuring things out ,   she always makes an effort to make sure her partner knows she cares about them .}  
  
• ^{otherwise ,  she’s generally comfortable with other people’s emotions ,   comforting other people ,   etc .  she’s highly empathetic ,   &   she genuinely cares about people ,  even if she doesn’t know them too well  –  such as when she tried to comfort nirali bhatia’s husband in me1 .} 
• ^{she has several small nervous habits ,  such as :} 
• ^{pulling her nails} 
• ^{biting / pulling at the skin of her lip / gnawing on the inside of her cheek}
• ^{clenching  &  unclenching her fists} 
• ^{pulling at her earlobe} 
• ^{tapping her foot / jerking her knee repeatedly}
• ^{she rarely lets her hair down from its usual bun .  [  i.e. :  the mass effect 3 design is fake .   this is what i headcanon ashley’s design to be in me3 .  ]  if it isn’t in a bun ,   it’s usually pulled into a low pony tail .  when she’s by herself she obviously takes it down ,  as well as sometimes when she’s with close friends + partners .}
• ^{while she’s specialized in assault rifles + sniper rifles ,   she’s familiar with most kinds of weaponry ,  &  can assemble / dissemble guns in record time .}
• ^{she wanted to be an infiltrator for awhile .  found out she didn’t have the patience for it .  wishes she could’ve kept the cloak ,  though .} 
• ^{she has dimples when she smiles + laughs .}
• ^{she can COOK!  she has several family recipes her mom taught her that she has memorized from her childhood  &  teen years .   it’s a small hobby that she normally doesn’t get the chance to break out ,  living on the normandy .   when will i get ashley trying to learn about the alien crew’s dishes  &  trying to make them as a fun lil bonding thing .}  
• ^{on the down low ,  she loves to play cards ,   &   she’s an excellent bluffer .  she can also play a mean game of pool .} 
• ^{she owns a combat knife that her father gave her ,   &  she taught herself a few knife tricks for fun .   but ,  she doesn’t take it with her on missions .}
• ^{she tends to go into a Big Sister Mode when around girls that are younger than her ,  &  she’s super protective of girls in general .  she’ll start a bar fight with a guy at the drop of a hat for a girl .}
• ^{speaking of fights ,   she’s absolutely one of the best on the normandy in hand - to - hand combat .  she’s had training in mma ,  boxing ,  silat ,   &   muay thai .}
• ^{there are pictures of her caked in horrible makeup done by her younger sisters when they were younger .  she LITERALLY looks like a clown .  liara probably has them .}
