it's so annoying how the fandom acts like ashley didn't have every good reason to refuse to join up w/ shepard tbh.. okay one (1) more rant but . lets put this from HER perspective: someone who looks and sounds like shepard -- albeit there's no guarantee that it /is/ shepard -- comes to the planet you're stationed on after a huge attack where most of the colony was taken away into a strange aliens ship and yes .  shepard /did/ fight those Strange Aliens .  but that alone is kind of suspicious not even including the context that shepard is /back/ from the dead . and ashley was ON the normandy when it went down .  we're not talking about someone who heard about it she was there .  maybe she didn't see shepard die . but She Was There . so shepard's back from the dead .  the colony she was assigned to was destroyed . and now shepard is working with as far as she knows .  a Xenophobic Terrorist Organization an organization that did horrific experiments that shepard /stopped/ and she was there to help stop if taken along and cerberus bringing back shepard? that SCREAMS shady. how was she to know that cerberus didnt put in a control chip or this isn't just some clone who was trained to act like shepard she DOESNT know any of this so all of that alone is a good reason for her to not want to go with shepard ... it's not about trust anymore . it's about common sense and this isn't even getting into the fact that ashley has a /life/ . she CANT afford to drop everything and go with shepard -- or someone who looks like shepard -- on some mission she doesn't know anything about she has a family. a career. and in her pov she IS working to help + defend people . just the same as shepard is but ashley doesnt have any of the context that shepard does . she doesnt /know/ whats happening. she can only make decisions on what she /knows/ is true would it have been nice if she'd come along? ofc. but lets not act like she was some Traitor for not wanting to go with shepard when she doesnt even /know/ if thats really her commander anymore anyways...! NMDFGFD tbd. this reads like ashleys got kids or smth.. she doesnt DFMGDN her sisters + mother are just rly important to her

a writing blog for ashley williams from the mass effect trilogy.

about the writer.  jude, 19.  she/they.  i’ve been writing ashley since … 2016 - ish,   and I’m excited to write her again.

001. highly selective + private,  but I am willing to plot with non-mutuals if approached.
002.  this account will remain extremely plot driven.  I prefer at least some sort of pre-established dynamic before threading,  so I can have a basic idea of how our characters will interact, though it’s not necessary.
003. multiverse + ship,  but selective about shipping.
004.  semi-active at the moment.  
005.  potentially triggering content may be present,  such as violence,  death,  and exploration of traumatic experiences.  it will all be tagged to the best of my ability,  but if you need someone specific tagged,  let me know.  tagged as [trigger] /

RULES / don't mind me - just pinning this for reference

ashley’s so … physical,  in my head.  there’s a lot of playful touching.   shoulder-bumps,   playful punching to the sides and arms,   knocking her hips into someone’s side,   wrapping her arm around someone’s shoulder,   or yanking them into her side.   depending on the person,   I think casual touch comes so easily to her,   and she tends to just be very   …   touchy.  lots of hugging,   getting into close contact,   loves play-fighting and (playfully!) knocking people around / getting knocked around.  

smacks upside the head are a love language actually someone shoulder bumps her into a wall and she'll laugh (ASSUMING it's with good intent / friendly -- otherwise she'll possibly start a fight) her body language is just so ... active in my head. i know the game can't show that - so it's just My Headcanons here but very on the move; very physical; a lot about her is /rooted/ in physicality and moving and staying on the go she's just a tank with a lot of heart <3 out.
